Every summer, thousands of campers enter the gates of Camp Lake Stephens eager to experience fun and fellowship in the midst of God’s beautiful Creation. While at camp, it is our hope and intent that campers grow deeper in their Christian faith, learn healthy practices in team work and social interaction, and gain self confidence through discovery and celebration of their individual gifts and abilities. With camps offered for children and youth finishing grades K-12, we believe that an amazing experience awaits each camper who makes Camp Lake Stephens their home. Parents or guardians can find more information regarding camp and scholarships at our Parent Information page.

Main Camp is a traditional camp experience that has remained the heartbeat of our ministry for nearly 75 years. Upon arrival, campers are welcomed into their cabin – 1 counselor and up to 7 campers who experience the week together as a Christian community. Overnight camps are available for those who have finished 1st-8th grades, and day camps are offered to those finishing K-2nd grade.
Founded in 2008, Adventure Camp overlooks beautiful Lake Stephens and offers a more rustic experience for campers who have finished 4th – 12th grades. Adventure Camp is an open-air and solar powered facility, and the “Tree House” grounds offer a smaller community of up to 24 campers and 5 staff. 3 day/2 night adventure trips such as whitewater rafting and backpacking are offered to junior and senior high campers!
Traveling Day Camp
Traveling Day Camp is our camp on wheels! TDC brings the joyful experience of summer camp to local churches and communities by offering traditional camp activities led by our highly trained summer staff. Launched as an outreach program to kids and communities across the state, our eight TDC sites served nearly 300 campers in 2018, and we look forward to serving more in the times ahead!
For over 50 years, Camp Rainbow has been a shining light in the CLS community. Camp Rainbow serves adults 18 and older with special needs. Each camper is offered at least a 1:2 counselor to camper ratio, and while they are here, campers are given the opportunity to engage in fun camp activities while making friends, building skills, and enhancing self-confidence. Most importantly, every camper will feel the love of God through all Camp Rainbow staff and volunteers.
One of the core values of UM camp and retreat ministry is to “develop Christian spiritual leaders”, and our primary goal with our senior high camps is to do just that. The Leader-in-Training program is for those who have finished grades 9-10, and Senior High Mission Week is for grades 9-12. New to this summer is The Bridge, a college ministry connection designed for campers who have finished grades 11-12.
