Leadership camps
The Leader-in-Training (LIT) program began in the summer of 2012. The purpose behind its creation was to promote leadership amongst our older campers who have finished 9-10 grades.  Campers who attend this camp commit to staying overnight for three straight weeks, learning the ins and outs of camp while building valuable leadership skills along the way.  While many LITs aspire to one day become staff members at CLS, we believe the knowledge and experience gained through this program will be beneficial not only within the gates of Camp Lake Stephens, but beyond!
Senior High Mission Week was first designed to impact the local Oxford and Lafayette County community.  It has since expanded to reach other places, such as Biloxi, MS after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, as well as other local communities.  It is our hope is to offer tangible, hands-on experiences for Senior High campers seeking the opportunity to grow the Kingdom of God through love and service.

The “LIT” experience is designed to give campers an opportunity to lead.  Campers will work directly with camp staff, providing family group assistance, grounds & dining hall service, and general program leadership. In addition, LITs will be able to grow in their faith through Biblical study tailored specifically for their age group.

Senior High Mission Week

CLS is headed to Nashville! We are thrilled to partner with Trinity Community Commons, an urban outreach program where campers will have the opportunity to participate in the summer reading program, lead games and activities, and assist in transforming the facility into a beautiful and inviting space for the community.  Campers will be staying at Cedar Crest United Methodist Camp in Lyles, TN for the duration of the week.
