The Environmental Education Program at Camp Lake Stephens creates educational experiences that take students outside the classroom. Students can learn about an ecosystem by actually visiting one, observe the habitats of native Mississippi animals and discuss their roles in the food web, and take part in a scientific study of a creek or a lake.
In a time when schools are trying to raise test scores while developing critical thinking among students, our Environmental Education Program can serve as a bridge between objectives and place-based learning. Whether it is meeting Common Core standards, need for specific unit objectives, want for critical thinking development, or basic hands-on learning, we can create an affordable, transformative experience for your students.
